City Council Meeting: 09/07/10

Alderman Walsten pulled a custodial contract from the consent agenda.  Staff was able to confirm that all of the products used by the winning bidder were eco friendly, so the three year contract passed.

While reviewing the warrant register, Alderman Wilson clarified that $2k of "cues" being purchased by the water department were not for an expensive pool game.  The water department uses telescoping camera systems manufactured by a company with the name of Cues.

Here is a list of meetings for the upcoming budget hearings:
7pm - City Hall

Sept 28th - General Fund Part 1 (non-public safety)
Sept 29th - General Fund Part 2 (public safety)
Sept 30th - Non-General Fund (TIFs, Library, etc)
Oct 20th - Review Meeting

Tonight's meeting marked the end of the many-month downtown storefront incentive saga.  The program finally passed out of Council and -- with any luck -- the first business will feel the impact of this new effort.

A pergola on Whitcomb Ave was built without a permit.  The resident was told that he needed a permit and the Council approved the permit (with fine) so that the pergola could stay in place.
